African record holder Omanyala’s chaotic World Championships journey ended in the semi-finals, just like Olympic Games did last year, after finishing 5th in the 100m semis early today morning.

Ferninad Omanyala’s debut at the biyearly championship had been marred with confusion, having arrived in Oregon just 3 hours to his Heats yesterday morning and having less than 24 hours to recover for the semi-finals.

African champion clocked 10.14secs to finish 5th in the semis, slower than the Heats on yesterday morning when he clocked 10.10secs to finish 3th in his Heat.

His semi-final heat was won by Jamaican Seville who dropped another sub-10 timing, clocking 9.90secs ahead of Mervin who clocked 9.93secs.
