Today, our own son Eliud Kipchoge who is well known when it comes to athletics smashed the marathon world record after finishing the race at 2:01:09.
This comes just some years after the 37 year old marathoner broke the two hours barrier in the world marathon at a showcase event dubbed Ineaos159 which took place at Vienna. Otherwise, this record is not recognized to be official, his today record is the one being recognized.
As they say, talents pays well and Eliud Kipchoge will be bringing a good amount of money to home following his victory.
It is indicated that he will be pocketing Ksh 3 million for winning the Berlin marathon race, on top of that he will walk away with Ksh 6.8 million and a time bonus of Ksh 4.1 million on top of other prizes.
