Well, France have become the first team to qualify for FIFA World Cup second round after a hard fought 2-1 win over Denmark. Kylian Mbappe was the star man as the Frenchmen overcame a resilient Denmark side thanks to the PSG man’s brace.
Having won their first game emphatically 4-1 against Australia, France knew any victory against the Danish would qualify them for the next round.
The Les Blues deservedly took the lead through Mbappe but Denmark were level seven minutes later after Adreas Christensen headed home from a corner. The two teams had chances to win it at 1-1 with the Danish wasting 2 glorious opportunities to go ahead. However, France made them pay dearly with 4 minutes to go when Antonie Griezman provided a cross for Mbappe who showed his predatory skills in the box as he scored past Peter Schmeichel with a thigh to make it 2-1. The Frenchmen then managed to see out their 2-1 lead to become the first country in Qatar to qualify for the next round.
