Manchester United welcomed Villarreal in Old Trafford on Wednesday night for the UCL clash, a match that many football fans around the globe were looking forward to see. Manchester had lost to Villarreal on last seasons’ Europa cup final on sport-kicks and took this game as personal (my opinion), they had also lost to Young Boys last week on their first match of the competition meaning they had no points in this campaign in the competition and so had to do the impossibilities to win the game
Unai Emerys’ side was more dangerous in attack in first half, producing 9 shots of which 4 were on target while the Red Devils produced 6 shots of which only one was on target. The game changed after halftime when Paco Alcacer scored the goal for Villarreal, Manchester looked worn out only to be brought back by Alex Telles who converted Bruno Fernandes assist to a super world class finish with his strong left foot to far post at the 60th minute.
Ole Gunnar seemed to have learnt more lessons on how to outshine the former Arsenal tactician by his substitutions. He did four changes in which one brought the big joy by giving out a crucial assist at the 95thminute to ensure they collect maximum points for the match day.
Manchester united will look forward to face Atalanta who are on top of the table with 4 points on20th October while Villarreal face Young Boys the same day.
The Red Devils have had a bad run recently and Ole hopes this will be a turn-around after the comeback in UCL victory, He stays positive about the return of the injured players and a little confidence on Alex Telles for his performance. In deed Manchester will be unstoppable if they manage to hold on the pressure and attack at the same rate as they did on Wednesdays’ UCL clash. They welcome Everton to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon on the premier league.
What is your thought on Saturdays’ match Vs Everton, if Ole plays the same squad that was used in the UCL clash on Wednesday night? Leave your comment below and remember to share, like and click the follow button for more English football news. Thank you.
