The director of Public Prosecution has withdrawn charges against a former football Kenya Federation presidential Nick Mwendwa. The former president was charged against an alleged misuse of the Federation funds.Mwendwa was the president when the national team Harambee Stars secured a place in the 2019 Afcon tournament before his judgement. The cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed moved to suspend Nick Mwendwa and his office due to the same, thus appointing a care taker committee to foresee footballing activities.
Due to the suspension, FIFA moved to suspend all international football participations for the country. The indefinite suspension forced CAF to withdraw Kenya from the qualifying groups that included Namibia, Cameroon and Burundi. We do not know the way forward for Nick Mwendwa. All eyes will be on the ministry to release a statement on the same.On its statement, FIFA recognised Mwendwa and not anybody else. What is your take?,should Mwendwa take his position so that FIFA can uplift the indefinite ban?Feel free to air out your views on the comments section below. For more news updates tap on the follow link on the top right corner if you haven't done so to receive more news.
