Today, the Kenyan team in Birmingham, United Kingdom is completing their participation in the games. It has been a nostalgic mood as there has been wins and losses, as it is in every competition. However, they tried their best. One thing that most Kenyans had waited with great zeal and anxiety is the 400 Meters by one relay. The team had qualified for the finals.
However, it was shock as the team failed to finish because of poor baton exchange. They therefore get a chance to fully participate. The 100 meters champion Ferdinand Omanyala has broken silence on the same. On his official Facebook page, he has said;
"Its been an emotional roller coaster for me in Birmingham. Really wanted two medals, God gave me Gold in 100M. A historic win it was. For the 4 by 100M relay my heart bleeds, but, I know that everything happens for a reason. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this great journey. On to the next."
Very few races remaining today before the competition closes. Wishing Kenyan team all the best.
