The family of Agnes Tirop woke up today to a shocking news of the demise of their loved one. Tirop was a kenyan marathoner and a star who brought home a bronze from the Tokyo Olympics where she was representing Kenya.
Agnes Tirop was found lifeless in her home located in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet county. She died on Wednesday, October 13th. She succumbed to wounds that we directed to her abdomen. The cause of her untimely death and the person who stabbed remain undisclosed at the time this article is published.
The athlete won the 10km race held in Tokyo last month and became the champion clocking 30:01 minutes.
At 19 years old, Tirop participated the world cross race and became the youngest winner of the world cross. The event took place in 1985. Tirop became the second youngest athlete who worn in the world cross country in the world.
