While on the campaign trail in Kitale something caught Raila's eye making him emotional. He was addressing his supporters in Laini Moja when he saw youths holding placards. The placards had picture of Wisdon Naya.
Raila wanted to know what befell the prolific Sofapaka football player. He was told that Naya was battling cancer and that his hospital bill was increasing day by day. Naya has a cancerous tumor on his knee that has made him not able to play football. Raila overcame with emotion promised to help the footballer and donated Sh 500,000. He also wished him a quick recovery and exuded hope that he will heal and soon be on the playing field again.
Other politicians also followed Raila's benevolence and promised to chip in and help. They were led by Saboti MP Caleb Amisi who gave a donation of Sh 100,000. Raila told his supporters that should he be elected as president, he will make sure that everyone will have a medical cover.
