The Meaning Of The Figure "3" In Front Of Chelsea's Jersey

For many years since the Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich took over the ownership of the English Premier League side Chelsea in the year 2004, the London-based side has had a number of organizations and companies as their sponsors.

Chelsea had the Fly Emirates as their sponsor before changing to Samsung mobile who sponsored them for many years. Yokohama tires then took over from Samsung.

Many football fans especially Chelsea fans might have wondered what the "3" in their jerseys that replaced Yokohama tires mean, as some people might assume it's just an 'initial' or something fancy.

However, "3" is a company based in the United Kingdom that decided to be Chelsea's main sponsor since last season. Three commences is a telecommunication company that took over Chelsea from Yokohama Tires in 2020.
