Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar revealed why he did not go on with the race in signing strikers from English Premier League clubs. Sergio Aguero of Manchester city, Jack Grealish of crystal palace and Harry kane of Tottenham Hotspur are the three EPL strikers in the race to be signed by different clubs. Ole Gunnar decided not to be among the race due to different reasons that sparked from the club and coaching staff.
Ole has pointed out specific reason per player on why he stopped the deal in making the transfer from EPL stars. The Reds refused to make the deal in signing Sergio Aguero due to football rivalry between the two clubs and long contract with the club. Ole Gunnar refused to take over Aguero who is expected to move from Etihad at the end of this season following expiration of his contract with the club. This is because their is no good relationship between the two clubs and long contract deal which can be terminated anytime.
Manchester United also refused the deal in signing Tottenham Hotspur and EPL top goalscorer this season following his age. Ole Gunnar with the coaching staff put much consideration into the age of players. Harry kane is now 28 years old and is heading to 30s which is a sensitive age for retirement of many players. The Reds is aiming to sign young players into his squad next season. The same reason applied to Jack Grealish of crystal palace who is now 26 years old. They also cut off the deal in signing Grealish due to his age.
However, Ole Gunnar is putting much effort to sign Borusssia Dotmund striker Erling Haaland who is among the top scorer in Bundesliga. Haaland is marketable player in the next transfer window due to his young age and most experienced in scoring goals with quality performance. Ole Gunnar is set his effort to bring the star in Old Trafford to make his squad more perfect next season. Haaland is 21 years old which is a good performing age for any player. Ole considered his age in making decisions to start the race in signing him.
