ZIMBABWE VS SOUTH AFRICA.
It seems very strange that Zimbabwe and South Africa played their last game against Senegal, respectively, and had contrasting results to ponder after ninety minutes. While the hosts for Friday lost 2-1 to the Senegalese national side in the COSAFA Cup, the Bafana Bafana had a stalemate resulting in a penalties win in the same competition. While it may provide some good insight in respect of where the teams stand, this World Cup qualifier will be a totally different ball game altogether.
The Senegal defeat in July means that Zimbabwe has now failed to win their last 5 games in a row. This comes as a real drawback when we consider South Africa’s 7-game unbeaten streak, 6 of which have seen no goals being conceded. The South Africans have really taken the AFCON disqualification to their heart. Moreover, Zimbabwe’s 3-game streak without a clean sheet means that they have undergone minor defeats as 5 of their last 7 games have ended in under 2.5 goals being scored.
We believe that South Africa have a slight edge, thanks to their great form, but Zimbabwe will try and take this game towards a goalless draw right from the first minute. Our expectation is a 1-0 win for South Africa, making Under 2.5 goals, BTTS-No and a South Africa win or draw, very lucrative bets ahead of Friday.
LITHUANIA VS NOTHERN IRELAND.
The home team will be looking to forget about their woefull record against the visitors having lost four of their last seven matches between themselves. This will definitely be a defining moment for both clubs as the world cup beckons.
Prediction:Both teams to score.
