Manchester City youngster Phil Foden has emerged as the winner of the Premier League player of the season award for the second time in a row.

The 21-year-old English international beat the likes of Mason Mount, Bukayo Saka, Conor Gallagher Trent Alexander-Arnold, Aaron Ramsdale, Tryrick Mitchell, and Declan Rice to the top award.

The young playmaker has maintained his spot as the best young player of the season proving he is one of the most talented young stars in Europe. After scoring 9 goals and providing 5 assists in the 2021/22 Premier League season his brilliant form proved to be enough to earn him the top prize under Pep Guardiola.

"I am very pleased to winnings this prize for the second time in a row. There have been some top talented youngsters in the Premier League this season and it is a great honor for the fans who vote for me.," the Englishman said.

"I'm excited by my performance this season and contributing to the team's good run and I hope to win we will win the league by the end of the season.

"Being nominated and becoming the winner ahead of some brilliant players in the Premier League is not easy. I want to thank everyone who contributed to me improving my performance this season.

The 21-year-old has been one of the main players for Pep Guardiola and he has been getting better after every campaign proving he is referred to as a generation talent.

Premier League fans have reacted to the Manchester City Foden being named the best young star this season. Some say he didn't deserve to win the award.
