Official: Manchester United Confirms The Appointment Of Erik ten Hag As First Team Head Coach

In their quest to return to glory days since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United has appointed coaches with vast CVs in Europe, but they haven't been able to replicate their form under the Scot. Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal among other coaches have had a little impact on the team, and the board has turned to the Dutch tactician, Erik ten Hag to try and turn things around.

Erik will take charge of the Red Devils from the end of this season until June 2025. The official statement

from the club read" Manchester United is delighted to announce the appointment of Erik ten Hag as Men’s First Team Manager, subject to work visa requirements, from the end of this season until June 2025, with the option to extend for a further year."

This is what Erik ten Hag had to say during his appointment expressing how difficult it would be to leave his current club Ajax, “It is a great honor to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.

“It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United.”

He will take over from Ralph Rangnick who will be assuming other sporting roles in the club when the season ends.
