Jurrien Timber was heavily linked to join his former Ajax Manager Ten Hag at Old Trafford but deal collapsed as Ajax considered him as untouchable and not for sale this summer.
But that move now seems to be completely off the table after the 21 year old Dutchman signed a contract extension with the Eredivisie champions.
Now he has penned a one year extension which will keep him at the club until 2025. Timber has already made 76 appearances for the Dutch outfit, winning the Eredivisie title in each of the last two seasons and he ready to focus his career on Ajax.
Maddison is one of the Foxes' star players and the club are keen to avoid him entering the final year of his contract next summer.
Brendan Rodgers has revealed contract talks with James Maddidon over the midfielder extending his stay at Leicester, Liverpool and Newcastle were interested to secure James this summer but they failed to price him.
