Chelsea: AC Milan Defender to Replace Rudiger, Tuchel on Azpilicueta’s future, and More

Alessio Romagnoli

AC Milan have been doing quite well in the Italian Serie A and they are currently on course to winning their first Scudderto after 11 years. Their main strength this season has been their impenetrable defensive line which is commanded by Italian behemoth Alessio Romagnoli. The defender has gained a popular reputation this season and true to this, he has really lived up to the public opinion about himself. Chelsea have gotten wind of this reputation and are currently interested in landing the 28 year old in the summer on a free transfer.

Romagnoli’s current contract runs out in the summer and it seems that AC Milan are really struggling to keep a grip on him especially with speculations about his future spreading all over the internet. Chelsea have not held formal talks with the player because they are currently assessing other younger options in the market but if things don’t work out as planned, Romagnoli will definitely be on top of the list.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Cesar Azpilicueta’s future at Chelsea is currently on the rocks and the board is trying to move as quick as possible to draft a new proposal to keep the player at the club. Barcelona have already offered a two year deal which the Spaniard is yet to respond to. Xavi Hernandez has been very optimistic about signing the skipper in the summer and has been constantly keeping close contact with him. Thomas Tuchel on the other hand is not so sure about Azpilicueta’s future but is optimistic that the board will give him a new contract that will keep him at the club for a little bit longer.

“The speculations about Cesar’s future are about to come to their end. The board is currently discussing what to do with his contract and I think they will make the best decision which is to keep the skipper at the club. He has a very tough personality and I need such a player at my side. But all I can say at the moment is that there are talks going on in the board rooms.”

Reece James

Reece James has one more match to prove to Gareth Southgate that he is better than Kieran Trippier, Trent Alexander Arnold and Kyle Walker. The England National team call up is just around the corner and James’ injury late last year really cost him a lot. There is growing concern around the player that he may miss a call up to the National team.
