Kenya international and former Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama who is currently plying his trade in the Major League soccer in the United States of America for Montreal Impact, has finally decided to call it quits from international football after 14 years.
The defensive midfielder made his international debut for the Kenyan national team (Harambee Stars) in May 2007 in a friendly against Nigeria. He went on to become the captain of Harambee stars since 2013 until his retirement from international football.
He announced his retirement through his twitter account, thanking everyone who has supported his journey all through He tweeted " It has been my honor to represent my country, and I think it is time for me to pass the mantle to the young, i will always be a fan of the national team and their biggest supporter."
