Manchester City started the match with a 4:3:3 formation which saw Grealish, Jesus and Foden lead the attack whilst in the midfield, he used Rodri, Bernardo Silva and De Bruyne. On the other hand, Pep used Cancelo, Larpote, Dias and Walker in the defense position.

Below are some of the mistakes made by Pep Guardiola;

Failure to keep a close eye on Mohamed Salah

During the match, Liverpool star player Mohammed Salah displayed his outstanding performance in the pitch, hence becoming a threat to Manchester City's defense by creating several goal-scoring chances.

Mistakenly, this winger was not marked out well by his rival team hence giving him chance to score a goal and provided an assist for Sadio Mane's goal.
