Opinion: Changes Mikel Might Make Ahead of the North London Derby

Mikel Arteta has hardly rotated his winning team this season. Arguably, the Gunners boss has established his premier league first team. However, the fitness issues in his squad as well as booking of players, might make him to consider making a few changes ahead of the long awaited North London Derby clash against Conte's Tottenham Hotspurs.

Given the fact that Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney have lately been battling with injuries, Mikel might be tempted to employ either Martinelli or Xhaka at Left back role in order to seal the void. During the international duties, both Partey and Tomiyasu were withdrawn for precautionary measure just like Kieran Tierney.

Should the latest medical assessment prior to the Saturday match prove the duo unfit, Gunners will doubtlessly see Sambi Lokonga and probably White will have to maintain at Right back position.

In the previous 3-0 win against Brentford, Mikel's squad involved faces of a few academy players. That's when the 15-years old Ethan Nwanweri made his premier league debut making history as the youngest player ever in the premier league to debut for a senior team.

This sent a message that Arsenal squad depth is currently compressed. This is highly impacted by the injury concerns at the club.
