A two storey building collapsed in kisumu Mamboleo.
According to the witnesses the building came tumbling down on Monday as it was still under construction.Those rescued from the site more than ten people were injured and are receiving treatment at kisumu referral hospital.
An unknown number of people are feared trapped under the rubble.There were also 3 women who were serving food.
Three people from the same family are said to be trapped under the collapsed building. They include a female food vendor, her husband and their child.Mr Amos Musau, the National Construction Authority (NCA) Central Nyanza Regional Cordinator, said he suspects the collapse might have something to do with the design of the building which was being constructed in a swampy area.
Rescue efforts are still ongoing for the people who are trapped inside the building.
There has also been other buildings collapsing: kinoo sunk down only a few days back.
