In as far as electricity connectivity as well as water supply has been availed in Belgut Constituency, the state of roads is far from being catered for.
Poor road network in the country has always been a hindrance to effective transportation. Farmers and motorists have in most cases been left counting losses. Subsequently, effective medical attention has downgraded due to poor roads.
This has been experienced in the upper Belgut Constituency along the Kapsoit-Sondu road. In many occasions, residents have often pulled together to repair the damaged road. With the area known for hefty Matatu business, the shanty state of the highway has left operators struggling. Subsequently, most vehicles are now heavily prone to break down.
While repairing a part of the tarmac near Sosiot Trading Center, residents have called on their area Member of Parliament Hon. Nelson Koech as well as the Kericho County Government to ensure improved infrastructure.
