Dramatic scenes was witnessed from a little known Mavohko village, Kakamega county in the former western province after a man,25, identified as Hussain Khalifa was beaten to near death by residents for allegedly parading naked women in search of a stolen gemstone.

Conferming the incident, the area subchief disclosed the suspect was rescued by police officer who were in patrol and rushed him to Kakamega level five hospital where he was hospitalized, "He sustained serious injuries on the head and body but is responding well to treatment." He said.
