Two people died In mombasa. road and five others sustained serious injuries.Machakos police Commander Joseph Kibet Kirui said a private car Vitz collided with a trailer yesterday night at kituu area along Mombasa road.
The accident caused a huge traffic snarl up along the busy Mombasa Highway. The two who Perished in the crash were on ill fated private car.
The remains of the death were taken to Machakos Referral hospital in Machakos county mortuary awaiting further investigation.
The injured are receiving Medical attention at the same facility Machakos Referral Hospital.
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) official from Machakos revealed that the accidents along Mombasa are mostly caused by reckless drivers especially trucks drivers who overtakes carelessly.
Mr John Mburu official from NTSAsaid the once truck driver recovers from hospital he will be arraigned in court. The wreckage of the two vehicles were taken to Machakos Central police station as it await further inspection.
