Investigations are still underway to come up with an answer to this puzzle on how Kamiti Convicts Escaped easily from the prison after digging a hole to help them escape.
New details has emerged that, these three Escapees planned for this operation for almost Seven months by the help of a prison Warden who helped them get the information from their counterparts in Somalia. This means the prison Warden acted as a link between the convicts and their other friends from Somalia.
According to standard media, the Escapees Escaped through jumping over the wall and passed through the staff quarters on the road where they found a probox that was ready waiting for them to transport them to Machakos. When they reached Machakos, they were supposed to get another vehicle waiting for them but unfortunately the vehicle did not show up and this forced them to board a Matatu.
They drilled a hole on the night they Escaped whereby they got the information from the officer in charge that the CCTV were not functioning and that all his colleagues were all drunk and asleep. The officer is said to have been paid handsomely by these convicts.
