Over the past few years, Kenyans have been expressing their fears over escalating cases of brutal killings in the country.

Residents of Kongoini village in Kiharu, Murang'a County woke up to a shock after a body of an unidentified man found dumped on the roadside.
The body was half-naked, with marks on the face, neck and wrist of his hands.
Reports indicate that there were pieces of nylon ropes believed to have been used to tie the hands of the deceased.
Police rushed to scene after receiving a distress call from locals who spotted the body.

According to police report, the man could have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped in the area by unknown assailants.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased could have been strangled to death. The police however noted that they are following up leads to establish the cause of his death.
The body to was taken to local morgue for preservation awaiting identification.
Police have since called on residents to be vigilant especially when walking alone during night hours.
