The Kenyan Meteorological Department had announced earlier that several regions in the country would experience a very heavy rainfall in a month. The heavy downpour has been experienced majorly in the Rift Valley region especially in Nakuru and Nandi.
Today, a heavy rainfall was experienced in Nandi County. The rain has broken the river banks and water is lingering over the bridges.
One of the bridge that water overwhelmed was Kingwal Bridge near Chepterit in Nandi.
Many cars have been stranded at the area due to the fear of the water flooding the road. Several passengers, traders and drivers have been abandoned in a worst situation. The drivers have been warned to drive carefully when using the road across that bridge.
Moreover, the residents also have been warned to be very cautious near the flooded area.
Therefore, if you are in rain zones in the country, stay safe and be cautious of the thunderstorms and heavy downpour.
