Police Inspector Transferred To A New Police Station Three Days Ago, Found Dead Inside His House

A police inspector who transferred to a new police station three days ago, found dead inside his house, Kakamega County.

Kakamega County police commander Joseph Wafula who confirmed the incident said the body of the deceased was found dangling at the roof of his rental house by his neighbours.

"We got a call from three locals informing us that a policeman has been found dead in the house, and his body found dangling at the roof top. The cause of his death remains unknown," Joseph said.

Police identified the officer as Inspector Hezron Okeya, 56-year-old. He was transferred to a certain police station in Kakamega County, North Eastern Kenya three days ago before his death.

According to Joseph, Hezron was serving as a lieutenant at Nakuru County police station, a role he held for close to 4 years before he was transferred to Kakamega County.

The police said the deceased was living alone in his rental house, but was married and blessed with three cute children who are living far away from Kakamega County.

His body was moved to Kakamega town hospital mortuary pending autopsy.

Police have launched investigations into the mysterious death of the officer.
