More than 15 doctors have been arrested for leaders' demonstration at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
Among those arrested are Kenya medical practitioners and dentists union leaders and are currently being held at capital hill police station.
The doctors are protesting against what they claim as unfair dismissal of medics, by the Kenyatta National Hospital, unfair engagement of doctors on a contract among other issues.
''We are the dismissed doctors. It is unfortunate, discriminatory. We will not allow this. Doctors are being dismissed and there is a list that is put in place to replace them, it is unfair and poorly practice and as the union, we will not allow them'', one of the doctors said.
They said that will continue with the strike until they get justice.
''Today we have come here to demonstrate peacefully and next week, we will come here again if the situation does not change we will give out the strike notice and all doctors in Kenya National Hospital medical officer, dentists, and all the consultants, pharmacists will be out of work until the court are obeyed until these doctors are employed on 'pnp' until the injunction orders that are that have been obeyed'', another doctor said.
They faulted the government for blocking them from looking for help.
'They are trying to use skills and distribution to bring confusion to our meetings and we shall move on with the strike if they will not hear our decry'', they said.
