Police officers were today forced to engage in a running battle with rowdy youth who attempted to interrupt deputy president's rally in Jacaranda Nairobi.
Following the Sunday's afternoon commotion, the officers were deployed to the area to disperse the rowdy youths.
The incident however did not stopped the speakers at the podium from speaking to the crowd as police engage the teenagers.
During the commotion one of the speakers could be heard telling the youths not to run away from the police, urging them to throw back the teargas canisters thrown by the security oficers.
"Tumekunywa tear gas tumeshiba, hii ni mwaki hapana kitu. Ukiona inakuja chukua uwarudishie. Tuko pamoja?" the speaker who has not yet been identified said.
Political dramas have been witnessed before at the Jacaranda grounds. In 2017 the ground was filled with human waste to stop ODM party Raila Odinga from holding a rally at the field.
