A 65-year-old lynched by irate mob after altercation with 80-year-old witch doctor in Mwingi East, Kitui County.
This is after the deceased’s visit to the witch doctor ended on a sad point after they involved in a heated argument over unknown issue.
Muthui Mwenga, 65, had sought the services of the witch doctor in Mwingi East, Kitui County at around 5pm on Saturday evening.
The Mathuki residents told the press that they were responding to the distressed calls of the popular 80-year-old witch doctor, who well celebrated and most loved man the in Mathuki, for his services.
On arrival, they discovered the 80-year-old witch doctor sprawling down and bleeding profusely after sustaining a deep cut on the forehead by the 65-year-old turned armed man.
The irate locals pounced on the 65-year-old with all crude weapons, and he died on the spot.
Police have sent a warning to the members of the public to desist from mob justice, and always report such cases to the nearby police station.
The crime scene was visited by homicide detectives alongside three police officers.
The officers documented their crime scene reports and transferred the body of the 65-year-old man to the hospital mortuary for postmortem.
