Bruno Shioso, a former police spokesperson, has taken on his new position as Commandant of the National Police College Main Campus Kiganjo.
Shioso officially assumed his new position during a brief handover ceremony held at the college. Shiso was appointed to the position of spokesperson in August 2021.
He succeeds Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome, who was recently appointed.
Shioso is credited with putting into practice the NPS Communication Strategy, which was created to further the Service's Mission and Vision, during his time serving as the Spokesperson.
Additionally, he has directed effective multi-agency and multi-sectoral programs, such as the multi-agency security operations and the campaigns on security readiness for the general election in 2022.
Shioso brings a wealth of experience from his roles both in Kenya and abroad.
He had been employed by the UN as a Transnational Organized Crime Expert before he was named the NPS Spokesperson.
As the Principal Assistant to the Director of I, Mr. Francis Ndegwa Muhoro, and at the Banking Fraud Investigations Unit (BFIU), he has also held senior positions at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
Shioso graduated with a Master of Science in Criminology from Leicester University in the United Kingdom, specializing in police leadership and management.
