President William Ruto on Tuesday January 10, 2023 presided over his first ever passing out parade since he took over as a head of state. The Head of State presided over passing out parade of 2,881 recruited police constables at National at the National Police College Main Campus - Kiganjo, in Nyeri County.
President William Ruto was accompanied by Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome, Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki, governor of Nyeri county Mutahi Kahiga, PS interior Raymond among other top government and police officials.
While making his address to police graduands, president William Ruto used the opportunity to announce that government will provide comprehensive insurance to members of Police, Prison Service and their families effective this months. The commanders-in-chief also added that National Police Service Hospital is complete and it will soon be read to be used by police officers.
"Govt will provide a comprehensive insurance scheme effective this month, available to members of police, Prisons Service and their families. Two fully-equipped National Police Service Hospitals are complete and will soon be ready to serve members of the force," he said.
