A 30-year-old road contractor has been clobbered to death after he allegedly beheaded his lover at cowshed place in Kihumbuini, Gatanga Constituency, Murang'a County.
Antony Kamau was lynched by irate locals after he targeted his lover, Mary Mwihaki, 39, while she was milking her boss's cows on Wednesday, November 9 at around 8 am.
Kamau is said to have slashed her head using a matchete.
A police statement recorded by area Chief Joseph Nyotu at Kihumbuini Police Station revealed that the brutal death took the attention of members of the public who killed the man instantly.
Even though police are yet to comment on the motive behind the gruesome murder, the duo are believed to have been in a love affair prior to today's killings.
Officers from Kirwara Police Station toured the crime scene and discovered Mwihaki lying at the cowshed with her head completely smashed.
They seized a panga said to have been used by the suspect to behead the woman.
