The man who has since been identified as Nixon Kipsang was last seen on Wednesday evening, according to reports shared online.
His family and friends got worried after efforts to reach him through the phone proved futile. It is when they decided to engage the police after failing to track him down.
A search mission was consequently conducted in a bid to establish his whereabouts.
Through phone tracking process, his lifeless body was discovered lying at the dam. Among recovered properties include a sweater, cap and a phone.
The body has since been retrieved from the dam by divers from Cheploch days after his mysterious disappearance.
While it is still not clear whether he was killed and dumped into the dam, rumours have it that the man might have committed suicide due to depression.
