Didmus Barasa Allegedly To Remain In Custody To Allow ODPP Carry Out More Investigations

Didmus Barasa has been in custody since Friday when he surrendered himself at Bungoma Police station.This was after DPP ordered that he surrenders in six hours or else the police officers will be forced to look for him.

Didmus Barasa is facing murder chargers after he is alleged to have shot a bodyguard of his competitor on Tuesday on polls day.He then went into hiding until Friday when he resurfaced and claimed that he didn't kill the man and therefore he will help the police officers look for the culprit.

Didmus Barasa was then taken to Bungoma in custody and he has been there from Friday.He was today arraigned in court and then the magistrate has ordered that he be kept in custody for some more days until investigations are done.Prosecution has asked for more time to allow more witnesses including NYS and IEBC officials who were present at Chebukwabi polling station to record statement.
