According to Mugo, she had received lots of death threats because she was investigating a murder case which linked a police officer from Busia.
She noted that just before she was abducted, she had advised her to stop digging into the case.
“During the investigations two weeks ago, we realized that a police officer might have been involved in the murder. We agreed as a family not to pursue the issue. Four suspects are already in custody," Ms. Mugo said.
She revealed that the Kidnappers admitted thar they had been sent by a senior police officer who asked them to collect her and her team. One of the Kidnappers also questioned her interest in the Kirinyaga women Rep seat.
She is currently recuperating in a hospital bed in Eldoret.
