A notorious city thug will not be celebrating Christmas this year after a deadly encounter with flying Squad Detectives.
According to the DCI, a thug who attacked a middle aged woman was fatally wounded by detectives last night, as he fled from the scene of the incident along Muratina road in Mathare, Nairobi County.
The thug who was part of a three-man gang that has been terrorizing residents in the larger Mathare, Pangani and Huruma areas, had just attacked a woman who was walking home leaving her sprawled by the roadside, screaming for help.
Interestingly, after the said robbery the thugs walked casually towards Mathare when the public raised alarm.
It has emerged that cops from the nearby Pangani police station responded and gave a wild chase.
During the melee one of the rogue thugs tried to attack a cop with a machete and that marked the end of his life.
He was fatally shot as his allies run inside a church where they surrendered.
