Brief reports revealed that the two neighbours were left nursing wounds following the Tuesday morning attack which occurred in Muambani area.
Local administrator Alois Mwongela confirmed the incident saying that the old man hit the two kids with a blunt object and they died on the spot, before killing himself by suicide.
The two neighbours who sustained serious injuries were taken to the Kathukini dispensary and later rushed to Matuu Level Four Hospital for specialized treatment.
The latest development comes barely two months when a man killed his sweetheart and four kids before surrendering himself to Kianyaga police station.
The suspect, 35-year-old Paul Njuki, who was being held by the police as investigations continue, was arraigned in court on Monday yesterday where he denied the charges of killing his wife and the four kids.
The four were identified as sweetheart Millicent Muthoni, 38, Nelly Wawira, 13, Gifton Bundi aged seven, five-year-old Sheromit Wambui and Clifton Njuk aged one.
