One man was found dead in prison under unclear circumstances. The man who was arrested for failing to adhere to the Covid-19 containment measures was unable to pay a Sh200 fine. This was after being found guilty of the offence in Makadara court.
Police say the lifeless body of the man was found lying in the cell in which he was detained together with other cellmates. Preliminary reports revealed that there might have been a scuffle inside the cell but police have refuted any possibilities of him being involved in a fight with any of the detainees.
The man's death remains a mystery but an investigation has been launched into the matter to determine the circumstances under which the man lost his life.
His body was moved to morgue where it is awaiting for an autopsy to be done on it before a clear report is given on the actual cause of his death.
