Fifteen houses in Kulumbeni location outskirts of Lugari constituency in Kakamega county have been cascated to fire by angry youths who suspected one of the area residents practicing witchcraft and thereby causing the death of several people in the sub-county.
According to one of the affected families that resides in Chenjeni and Mutoni environs of Matete, they explained to the Opera news hub that it's an act that happened early Tuesday morning when everyone was asleep failing to understand and to notice the exact individuals that were articulating the act.
Consequently, they add that the young boys took advantage of destroying property in revenging the death of their closest allies Reuben Sasaka, a middle-aged man being suspected to have been killed by the accused families, claims that have been turned down by the suspects, on their hand who went on calling upon the cabinet secretary for the Ministry of interior and coordination of the National government Dr. Fred Okengo Matiang’I to reach in Lugari and see on how they can be compensated.
“It was around 3 am today morning when I heard a loud bang at the door failing to understand whom it was., Without much ado, young boys dressed in black suits asked me to get out of the house with my family and thereby lit the fire on it and also to the nearby maize plantation”
“The armed crowd is now looking for any friend’s suspect and similarly breaking into the home with an intention of demolishing any property”, hissed one of the families that are being suspected to have resulted in the demise of Reuben Sasaka.
Four of the youths who are being said to cause the destruction have already been kept at Kabaras police station as others are on Investigation, Matete OCPD Thomas Ototo has confirmed.
