Kenyan Village Where It Is The Work Of Men To Go To The Market While Woman Stay At Home

Kenyan daily publication Standard newspaper,today published an interesting story of a village in Kenya where it is a honour and work of men to go to the market to buy groceries for their wives.

The publication reported that among the coastal community called Bajuni,the act of men going to the market to acquire items for their wives is a norm.

During the market days, women stay at home with their children while men go to the market.

Speaking to standard newspaper,the villages revealed that this is a tradition that has been passed from one generation to another.

To them going to the market is a role to be performed by men,and is a romantic way of showing love to the woman of the house and children.

Report indicated that when you visit the markets in the region,you will easily came across men negotiating for prices of various food items.

Men are fond of using traditional carrier bag Kiondo which they hang on their backs.

Mohamed Said a resident, revealed that it is a duty of a man to go to the market and women are not allowed to go to the market not unless their are doing business or their are no men at a particular home.

"We buy everything,it is our culture since time memorial.Our ancestors used to do it and it has been passed from one generation to another"said The Aged man.
