Following a statement released by Paul Mugenda, the former employer of the suspect, Moses Gatama it detailed a different account of events that occurred on the fateful night of September 13, 2020.

While drinking the night away, Wangari is said to have dismissed Gatama's lewd gestures which infuriated him and to a battle that saw her being tossed down from a window on the twelfth floor to the ninth floor where she landed and endured genuine pelvic wounds that saw her conceded at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for a very long time.
