There was a sombre mood at Oriang Estate in Homabay county after a first-year student was found brutally murdered by unknown assailants.

According to the source, the deceased identified as Emily Chepkemoi was a first-year student pursuing clinical medicine. The body of Emily was found lying in a pool of blood by neighbours who became suspicious following bad odour that was coming from her house.

Sources revealed that she went missing two days ago, it is allegedly said that the student was murdered by her boyfriend (a prime suspect ) over a love triangle. Homabay Assistant Chief by the name Dancun Oketch revealed that the deceased was stabbed twice in the neck. The body is currently at the morgue awaiting autopsy and burial arrangements.

Opera fraternity wishes to send our deep heartfelt condolences to the family and friends, may her soul rest in eternal peace. Cases of murder among varsity students have become rampant in the country. A few weeks ago, another student from Mount Kenya University was killed by her boyfriend.
