Kenyans are set to celebrate the Mashujaa Day celebration next week an event that Kirinyaga will host. Since the promulgation of the 2010 constitution. The celebration has been held in each county with an aim of intergrating the Kenyan communities.
The celebration will go on despite the challenges caused by the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in the country last year March.
The governor's council has however delivered bad news to the Kenyans. In collaboration with the ministry of health, they have reported that 20 counties are currently overstretched with high number of covid-19 patients and that the hospitals are in high demand for oxygen by the critically ill.
To be able to control the spread of the virus. The government announced last week that the celebration will not go on in other counties unlike in the previous celebration. Only few people will be allowed to have the occasion while others can follow the event as it will be broadcasted live by the local media.
