Kenya Meteorological Department announces heavy rainfall advisory in several parts of the country. According to the report shared through their official website, heavy rains is expected over several parts of the Lake Basin region and in highlands of West Rift Valley. Moreover heavy rainfall will stretch up to September, according to the report.
Rainfall is expected to continue over few areas in the Highlands West of Rift Valley and the Lake Victoria Basin. The rest of the country is likely to generally dry though occasional rainfall is expected over some parts of the South and Central Rift Valley, the Northwest, the Highlands East of Rift Valley and Coast.
Warm conditions are expected over several parts of the country. Also strong southeasterly winds with speed exceeding 25 knots expected over some parts of Coast, the Northeast, Northwest and Southeastern lowlands.
Therefore the following counties are expected to receive heavy rains from 3th September, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Kericho, Nakuru, Bometi, Kisumu, Migori, Homabay, Narok, Kirinyaga, Embu, Meru, Kiambu, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri and Murang'a.
