In the photo, the police officer in blue uniform and service white cap, didnot sat on the passengers seat while in a matatu. The police was an excess passenger in the matatu. Carrying excess passengers in a matatu, is an offense and one can be arrested by traffic police officers.

The police officer sat in a seat which is mostly known by Kenyans as 'sambaza', it's made of wood and it's coated with a smooth cloth, it's then fixed between two seats in a matatu, the right seat and left seat, then an excess passenger sits on the modified seat, 'sambaza'.

This is very wrong and it's not allowed by Traffic Officers. This photo sparked reactions because the officer who is supposed to enforce the law by arresting the driver, he entertained by seating on it and allowing the matatu to operate.
