A Nairobi man said to be a hydrologist at the Ministry of Water has landed in police custody for assaulting a neighbour leading to the dislocation of her thumb after he found her burning litter in an open space.

David Karega assaulted Beatrice Nyokabi at Safari Park Gardens, Nairobi.
On the fateful day, Karega had parked his vehicle in an open area where Nyokabi had lit the fire and watched the burning trash. It was then when Karega in the company of his wife approached her, fuming with rage, attacked and assaulted her.
He used his palm to knock out Nyokabi's head who retreated back having sensed danger. He then followed and forcefully pushed her from the back, making her tumble and roll down as she accused Nyokabi of trying to burn his vehicle parked in the same compound.
In the process, Nyokabi left with a dislocated finger, and some bruises on her knees.
She visited a nearby hospital where she received treatment before reporting the matter to the police.
