Why A Family Of Four In Nakuru Were Buried In A Single Casket Following Arson Attack

A family of four who were burned beyond recognition in Nakuru County during an Arson Attack was laid to rest on Friday last week in a single casket at Denderu village. Alice Njeri (32) and her three children aged 9, 6 and 3 were allegedly burned live at kahuho village in Elburgon sub county. The patriarch who was suspected to have caused the loss of lives was arrested and has been summoned to court to answer several questions.

According to the kin of the deceases John Muraya, the family were buried in a single casket because their bodies were merely recognized. “ Leaders and Residents gave us financial support but we decided to put the remains in body bags provided by Nakuru county Government before burying them in one casket.” Muraya told the Nation Newspaper. Drug and alcohol abuse were stated to be the fueling factor for the majority cases of murder in the area.
