Amount of Money Well-wishers Raised to Build a New House For Mother of Late Singer Esther Wanjiku

Yesterday, well-wishers led by popular philanthropist MC Karangu Muraya raised money towards building a house for the mother of late Kikuyu gospel music singer Esther Wanjiku.

MC Karangu announced that he received a total of 200,000 Kenyan shillings.

He is optimistic that Esther's mother who has been living in an old mabati house in Korogocho slums will soon get a new decent house in memory of her late daughter.

"God in heaven, you gave the late Esther Wanjiku a message that you will always come to the aid of those who believe you. Thanks to all well-wishers who supported me and Ann Lawrence when we were at the home of Esther's mum in Korogocho. We supported the family with 200,000 Kenyan shillings" Wrote Karangu Muraya on his Facebook page as translated from Kikuyu language.

Esther died last week after a short illness. Her death came as a shock to many since the illness hadn't yet been made public. May she continue resting in peace.
