Police in Nyandarua have launched investigations after an officer was found dead in his house within the station.
The officer who was attached to the Tumaini Police Post was found by his colleague who went to find out why he hadn't joined him for the day’s duty.
Preliminary investigations show that Mwaliko went to Nzole's house and found it locked from inside. His efforts to access Nzole's house were futile as his calls went unanswered. The officer didn't also respond to several knocks on his door. The incident prompted him to alert the OCS who helped him break the door. Upon gaining entry into the house, they discovered the officer’s lifeless body lying on his bed.
Nzole's colleagues found an alcoholic drink next to his bed. Medical reports were also found in the house.
The body of the deceased was moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy.
Police officers have been urged not to shy away from discussing their problems with friends and colleagues.
