Police commander Benjamin Kimwele.
According to police reports, the unidentified man is aged betwwen 20-27 years.
"The man was without any identification documents. We are investigating to understand if he was killed elsewhere and body dumped in the area," said Kimwele.
He urged members of the public who may have lost a relative to contact police so that they be given a opportunity to identify the body.
"The body was moved to the Bungoma hospital mortuary. If you have lost a relative, kindly contact us so that we give you an opportunity to identify the body," he added.
Kimwele said that over the past one month, Bungoma has experienced relative calm due to few cases of crime.
He requested members of the public to collaborate with police in a bid to tame criminals.
